Purpose
The heavy asterisk ✱ is used to quickly mark the most important notes in the Forever Notes framework. It’s especially useful for linking and searching for key notes.
Every time you type ** followed by a space, it will automatically be replaced with the heavy asterisk symbol ✱.
Setup
To create a text replacement for ** to ✱ in iOS (or any other Apple OS), follow these steps:
- Open Settings.
- Scroll down and tap General.
- Tap Keyboard.
- Select Text Replacement.
- Tap the + in the top-right corner.
- Copy this Unicode character
✱. You can do this by long-pressing the symbol and selecting Copy. - In the Phrase field, enter
✱. - In the Shortcut field, enter
**. - Tap Save.
Text replacements sync automatically between iOS, iPadOS, macOS and VisionOS if you’re signed in with the same Apple ID and have iCloud Drive enabled.
